Welcome!

This blog will primarily be about the plants I find (and grow) on the croft where I live (smallholding/homestead) – how they can be gathered, preserved, eaten, used as medicines or as art materials…or I might point them out just because they are beautiful!

I will also be posting about the creative retreats that I’ll be hosting here on the isle of Eigg – and again, about the plants we might find (obsessed much?!)…as well as the fun we might get up to, and about the incredible tutors we have lined up!

Sometimes I might also be tempted to share a story with you about the beautiful island where I live. After all, it is amazing…

If that floats you boat then do follow – and watch this space…

Best wild wishes,

Laurie

P.S. Do you recognize the plant in the blog cover picture? It grows everywhere on the croft in the summer, and I love it. It’s called Self Heal. This summer, I was taught by a friend to make ink from it – and I also read it can be transformed into a healing tea.
