*What are constellations?

If you’ve ever found yourself thinking and talking over and over about a particular issue in your life, and yet it never seems to shift or change significantly, you may find constellations helpful. A constellation is an exercise which can be done in groups, pairs or solo, during which we tap into a deeper intelligence than we can access with our head alone. We work with the wisdom we access through listening to our body, intuition and emotions.

This process helps us have new insight into those stuck issues, so we can become more free and there is movement that feels healthy. There is often magic and joy in feeling new possibilities open for us, and clarity as we discover a way forward that feels right. Sometimes this happens through the constellation revealing something connected to the issue that is vulnerable for us, something we haven’t yet had space to look at. The constellator (Naomi) guides the process slowly with kindness and gentleness. Naomi and Laurie hold the group in such a way that there is care, respect and love present in the group. All this helps us see our issues differently and feel empowered in our lives.

We can participate in constellations through observing, or by representing someone/something for someone else, or by bringing our own issue to explore. There is choice and consent all the way through. You don’t need any prior experience of constellations to take part or receive benefit.

We often think the things we struggle with are very personal and unique to us, yet constellations remind us how interconnected we are, to each other and to the wider world. This experience brings a healing movement into our lives in the places we need it, helps us become more alive to the present moment, and helps us feel a loving connection with Life.

**What is an insight walk?

An insight walk is an experience which can help boost clarity, presence and self esteem. It can bring answers to some deep questions, or perhaps help you process a big change in your life. It can also help you develop your deep reverence for nature, allowing you time alone to reflect and just to be with the landscape, elements and non-human beings.

What it involves:

Intention/question setting. An intention helps define why it is you are doing the walk. It may be about helping you to mark or celebrate something you have already done, but it might also equip you with the understanding of who you have to become as you go through changes in your life. You might also like to pose the intention as a question to help guide you.

The walk. The walk will be 3.5 hours of solo time. During this time, you follow your body and your instincts. The main purpose of this time is to be and to let what happens happen without having a predetermined plan and any distractions. You will notice plants and animals, as well as other signs in the landscape that will capture your attention.

Story sharing: You will be invited to share your story, with the group as your witnesses. Your guides will offer some reflections. The purpose of this stage is for you to be seen and heard and for you to gain more clarity on what the walk meant for you.

what LAURIE brings

Laurie lives on Eigg and is a qualified Wilderness Therapeutic Practitioner, bringing practical skills like foraging with softer approaches such as sit spots, mindfulness and nature solos. She is also an artist who works with plants and a writer/researcher…you can read more about her on the About page.

Our Story & Approach:

Laurie’s passion for wilderness rites of passage; Naomi’s devotion to constellation work and cyclical living: these approaches to transformation found a way to combine in summer 2022 when the two women met and delivered their first Wild Well Beings retreat in a beautiful woodland in the Cotswolds, England. Since then they have gone on to deliver 10 seasonal retreats together.

Since Laurie moved to Eigg, their work together has shifted North and they delivered a Wild Well Beings retreat in Blackness, Scotland. They have now decided to bring their work to Eigg, with a different name, as part of the creative retreat series Laurie organises – still with the spirit of Wild Well Beings at its core.
